Alleged brother keeper Romanian Lenuta Andreea Cucoranu has had a book of evidence served on her at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The Sunday World reported that Cucoranu is facing 109 charges after a number of “vulnerable” people involved in the sex trade were discovered after multiple Garda raids.
The 29-year-old who has been living in Ireland for approximately 12 years but has no history of being involved in gainful employment here.
It is alleged that on dates between 2016 and 2023 in countries Dublin, Louth, Meath, Kildare and Waterford Cucoranu engaged in, 20 counts of brothel keeping, 20 counts of organisation of prostitution, 17 counts of money laundering, seven counts of theft, as well as 44 counts of using false documents, and one of participating in organised crime.
Of the alleged offences listed she is accused of having used false documents to lease properties from which to run brothels.
Consent was given to provide free legal aid to the accused to cover the costs of a senior and junior counsel.
She has been given 14 days to provide any alibi details to the prosecution with the prosecution being ordered to provide the court with a video of Garda interviews with the accused.
Cucoranu who has no fixed address but was ordered to reside at an address in Kildare with family members was remanded on continuing bail to appear before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on the 4th of July.
