Considering how often the Irish political establishment uses the phrase “far-right,” you’d think they’d at least have some sort of half-arsed definition of it to hand when asked.
An Irish politician not knowing what “far-right” actually means is like a member of PETA not knowing what meat is – it’s a bit strange to not be able to define your own raison d’etre. But that is exactly what we witnessed last week, when Senator Sharon Keogan asked Justice Minister Helen McEntee to define the phrase.
