Twitter’s head of Trust and Safety, Ella Irwin, has reportedly left the company after a major row erupted when a freeview of the hit documentary exploring transgenderism, ‘What Is A Woman’, was labelled ‘hateful content’ by the platform’s moderators.
The movie was screened for a special 24 hour free-to-view last night, racking up some 1.8 million views in 12 hours, despite Twitter marking it as ‘sensitive’ and limiting its visibility.
Those seeking to share the movie found it difficult to do so.

The Daily Wire, who produced the documentary with commentator Matt Walsh said that Twitter was “visibility limiting “What Is A Woman?” as premiering on Daily Wire’s Twitter page.”
“They did it within seconds of its premiere. It cannot be RTed. Nothing has been fixed,” Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire tweeted.

The documentary continued to rack up views even as Elon Musk responded to queries from Dr Jordan Peterson and others in real time.
The film was described as asking an elementary question which “leads to larger, disturbing queries” by one critic on Rotten Tomatoes. .
Another said that: “Walsh takes his unflinching poker face and sharp wit into the belly of the beast in a bid to find out how a word as mundane and easily defined as “woman” has become a pride flag draped hot potato.”
Musk has said that Twitter would be a free speech platform, and accounts previously suspended for arguing against gender ideology have been restored to the platform.
