Gript has previously covered the growing scandal and potential political fallout from the FBI investigation into a laptop owned by Hunter Biden, son of the current President of the United States, Joe Biden.
Some of the saliant takeaways – and likely focus of the FBI – are that a meeting was arranged with Joe Biden while he was serving as Vice President to Barack Obama, with the heads of a Ukrainian gas company Burisma. That meeting was facilitated by Hunter Biden – as, allegedly, was the transfer of payments totalling $4.8 million from a Chinese state company CEFC to accounts controlled by the Biden family.
The past week has provided more evidence that despite a massive political and media cover-up that not only has the story not gone away, but that the growing acceptance of the truth of what the laptop contains will have potentially catastrophic implications for the Biden administration.
Not surprisingly, Republicans who endured years of efforts to use that same media and state structure, including the FBI, to undermine not only former President Donald Trump but even conservative pro-life nominees to the Supreme Court, are in combative mood and if the Congressional elections to be held on November 8 go as expected then it is likely that Biden will face a formidable challenge to his remaining in the White House as a credible Commander in Chief.
Mark Levin of Fox has not minced his words in declaring that “Joe Biden is the patriarch of an incredibly corrupt political family. He may be the most corrupt President in American history.”
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have concentrated on the role of social media in suppressing the laptop story.
Earlier this week, they wrote to the CEOs of Facebook and Twitter accusing them of “irresponsible conduct” in relation to the manner in which they took down references to the laptop – now declared to be genuine even by participants in the cover up such as the New York Times – and ominously promising to hold an investigation should, as seems likely, the Republicans regain control of the House in November.
The mainstream media is also under scrutiny for its role in burying the story and denying the veracity of reports in the New York Post which had obtained materials from the laptop.
Most voters can see that there are valid questions about why most of the press sought to bury the story in the first place.
As the Justice Department investigation into Hunter Biden’s business activities gains steam, expect further revelations and recriminations.

Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz questioned Bryan Vorndran of the FBI’s cyber security section on March 29, before submitting records from the hard drive of Hunter Biden’s laptop into the record. Even CNN are now admitting that the FBI investigation into the laptop and its contents are starting to pick up pace.

As we noted previously, the fall back position for the administration and its supporters if denial appears increasingly to be untenable may be to concentrate on Hunter Biden’s own degenerate lifestyle. He would not be the first scion of a great political or royal family to be revealed as a dodgy cove, and in fairness that does not necessarily reflect on all the rest of the family.
However, that is not what is at issue here. What is important from the evidence that may be contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop is not that he was engaged in smoking crack or questionable sexual behaviour but that he was acting as a conduit for money between business interests and his father who was then Vice President of the United States of America and is now the President. And at a time when the west of which the United States is the informal head is facing a crisis unprecedented in generations.
A Rasmussen poll published last week portends potentially disastrous electoral consequences for the Democrats facing this year’s mid term Congressional elections. The Biden administration is already increasingly unpopular due to a whole range of issues, and now it would appear that most voters are coming to accept that the Hunter Biden laptop issue is both genuine and important. The latest polls show that Republicans hold an 11% lead over the Democrats.
Two thirds of those surveyed said that they think it the Hunter Biden laptop investigation is important and 65% believe that Joe Biden was consulted about any may have benefitted from the business deals discussed in the emails. Even more striking is that almost half – 48% – believe that had the media fully reported the story prior to the November 2020 Presidential election that Biden would not have won. Just 68% of Democrats believe that Biden would have won.
The stark reality then is that the west may be in the fortunate position of having at its head at this crucial juncture a potentially compromised individual. And that is apart altogether from the almost daily evidence of his personal incapacity to lead.
As the old Irish adage puts it “Aithnionn ciaróg ciaróg eile.” The Putins and the Xis and all the other creatures know exactly who they are dealing with. Perhaps better than we will ever realise.
