Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was dubbed a “war criminal” by a heckling crowd in Northern Ireland as she was inaugurated as chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast.
Clinton, who celebrated her inauguration on Twitter, saying “Just call me Madam Chancellor,” was met with a less than enthusiastic reception.

Footage circulated on social media shows the Democrat former Secretary of State in ceremonial robes as the crowd chanted “war criminal!”, “shame on you!” and “shame on Queen’s!”
They won’t be able to walk down the street…

In the Foreign Policy article “Hillary the Hawk: A History,” Clinton was accused of consistently [endorsing] starting new wars and expanding others.”
In 2002, Clinton voted to authorize the use of military force in Iraq, so that, in her own words, then-President George W. Bush would be “in the strongest possible position to lead our country in the United Nations or in war.”
In 2009, she also endorsed a significant troop surge in Afghanistan, and in 2011 was a strong proponent of regime change in Libya which resulted in what Barack Obama dubbed “a mess.”
That would be news to Hillary Clinton.

Ian Greer, Queen’s University’s president and vice-chancellor, described Clinton as “an internationally recognised public servant who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to Northern Ireland.”
“We are delighted that Secretary Clinton has been able to travel to Belfast to be formally installed as the university’s 11th chancellor,” he said.
