An eight-year-old boy who was attacked yesterday afternoon by two dogs in his home in Tallaght has died.
Two dogs attacked the child at around 4pm on Sunday, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
The emergency services had treated the child at the scene and he had then been taken to Tallaght University Hospital, and transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin.
Gardaí said their investigations to date meant they were treating it as a tragic incident.
The dogs were confiscated and put to sleep.
