A witness in the trial of Riad Bouchaker has stated that she heard the Parnell Square school stabbing suspect saying, “Shit Irish, shit f**king Irish” as he passed her on the 23rd of November 2023.
The witness in the case where an Algerian man is charged with the attempted murder of three small children, also stated that she saw a man dressed in dark clothing approach a number of “white” Scottish-seeming tourists and make similar comments – and that she had said “not funny” when the group had laughed.
Bouchaker( 52), who came to Ireland as an asylum seeker about 25 years ago, is charged that on the 23rd of November 2023, outside Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire on Parnell Square. Dublin 1, he attempted to murder a male child, attempted to murder two female children, and caused serious harm to a care worker.
He was also charged with assault causing harm in respect of another male child, assault causing harm in respect of a female child, assault causing harm in respect of a French national, and one count of production of a 36cm kitchen knife.
Another witness, a Dublin Bus driver described how he was approached by a man in dark clothing near Parnell Square who asked him where a school was on the day of the incident.
The trial continues as the accused denies all charges.
