Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of the body of a female in Killarney today, Tuesday, 7th July 2026.
Gardaí say they and emergency services responded to an incident at a domestic residence in the area this afternoon, leading to the discovery of a woman aged in her 40s who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course while the scene remains preserved for technical examination.
A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the investigation. An incident room has been established at Killarney Garda station while Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the Muckross Road area of Killarney between the evening of the 6th and the afternoon of the 7th of July 2026 and who may have camera footage, including CCTV or dashcam, is asked to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
