Two waiters were attacked with glass bottles in the fight on South William Street.
There has been widespread condemnation of a group of young males who fought with two waiters on South William Street in Dublin last night.
Using bottles to attack the waiters, after chairs had been thrown at the pair, four males were chased onto Exchequer Street and Wicklow Street by the two staff from a nearby pub.
Kicks and punches were exchanged during the chaos, with onlookers particularly perturbed when one of the four younger males tried to glass one waiter, and then broke the bottle over the other waiter who slunked to the ground.

One waiter is thought to have been taken to hospital as a result of the glass bottle attack, with three men – one in his late teens and two in their 20s – arrested when Gardaí eventually arrived on the scene.
The incident is one of several that have cast into doubt the government and Gardaí’s ability to maintain peace in the city centre during their ongoing ‘outdoor summer’, with many commentators saying Dublin is now out of control.
Where are they? Prime city centre location where they managed to deploy 100 guards to baton charge the street two weeks ago. Why aren't thete 2 patroling the streets the rest of the time?

No threat ≠ not illegal. Either you want them to enforce the law or not. I was on south William street a couple of week ago, kids snorting coke in the open, half the crowd under age, people passed out getting carted off in ambulances. It wasn’t anywhere near safe
