Parents of a primary school for boys in South County Dublin have been asked to be on alert after multiple incidents of possible foiled abductions have been reported in the area.
Rollercoaster.ie reported that the “school community is on high alert, as parents in a boys’ national school in Dublin have been sharing frightening reports on their WhatsApp groups.
They said that “concerned parents in the Foxrock area of Dublin have reported that their children, who were walking to or from school alone, were approached by a man, and sometimes a woman, in a car, offering them a lift home. Multiple reports of similar incidents have been recorded over the last fortnight”.
Parents have shared that their child, usually walking on his own, told them that they noticed a car pulling up close by.
The person inside, usually a man, but in some instances, a woman, would claim that they knew the parents. They would then ask the boys to get into the car, so that they could drop them home.
The alleged incidents were said to have happened near a popular supermarket in Cornelscourt, County Dublin. The school principal is aware of the situation, and the Gardaí have been notified, Rollercoaster said.
