Yesterday, we learned of a lengthy “cheat sheet” prepared for asylum seekers in Ireland which revealed applicants are being coached to “effectively exploit the asylum interview process through the use of a series of scripted responses”.
It comes after Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan acknowledged earlier this year that “we have a situation where there are too many people seeking international protection who are not entitled to it” – and that in January of this year over 80% of asylum applications were rejected at the first instance decision.
