Over the weekend, tens of thousands of Irish people took to the streets of Dublin in protest to express concern about the impact of mass immigration on their country.
Judging by the magnitude of this turnout, one would naturally expect that any government would see it as a moment to reflect and take on board the concerns of the aggrieved section of society. Instead, Taoiseach Micheál Martin chose to essentially dismiss the whole display out of hand.
