One tribute to the victims of the dreadful terror attack on the Berlin pride parade over the weekend struck me, because it summed up the blind sloganeering that ultimately made the attack possible. This, despite its author’s best intentions.
No less than the Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas wrote on X, in response to the Islamic attack on a pride event, that “diversity and tolerance are among the foundations of our democracies”.
