Finance Minister Michael McGrath has said he is bringing a proposal to Cabinet next week recommending a new law to protect ATMs in towns and villages around Ireland, thus ensuring that people can always access cash when needed.
As reported by RTÉ over the weekend, the “Access To Cash” bill would require a certain amount of ATMs per 100,000 citizens in each area, and would also ensure that people can always pay for essential services with cash:
