Ireland’s energy policy is simply madness.
This is not surprising because it seems to be a very consistent feature of all macro-level policy making in our dear Republic. Whether in foreign policy, EU policy, infrastructure, and so on, and so on – our government lacks any big picture and reacts to each small event as it occurs, piling up a contradictory huge dog’s dinner of policies and measures that doesn’t resemble a blueprint so much as last year’s tangled christmas lights.
