One of the more amusing, or perhaps ‘bemusing,’ comments on the revamped National Development Plan was made by Sandra Hurley on the RTÉ website. In her review of the ‘5 takeaways’ she refers to the “usual inflationary and demographic pressures.”
That the population is projected to increase by another third between 2022 and 2057 and that 90% of that growth will be made up of inward migration is not ‘usual.’
