When the great progressive-liberal project of recent years lies in the rearview mirror, as it surely will, bearing within it as it does the seeds of its own destruction, surely the chief architects of its downfall will be understood to have been its most vociferous proponents.
It was impossible not to think such thoughts as I read DUP Minister Gordon Lyons comments about last week’s Belfast Library debacle, which kicked off because of an event featuring two men in drag reading stories to children – which at this stage, it can be safely said, is an old favourite of some members of the drag community.
