Last week, French EU Commissioner Thierry Breton, in a widely circulated clip, said the following about the potential of nullifying or overturning the results of the forthcoming German Federal Election:
“What we did in Romania”, of course, refers to a decision – not by the EU but by Romania’s domestic constitutional court – to overturn and annul the results of that country’s Presidential Election First Round, held on November 24th last, on the grounds of alleged Russian interference in the campaign.
