Galway nurse Aoife Commins is back on the airwaves again, telling us, in effect, that if you have sex with people like her, you will run no risk of being infected with HIV.
Commins is HIV-positive. She tells us: “I just think it’s so important to know that once you’re on effective HIV treatment you cannot pass on the virus to anyone”. Nurse Commins is fronting the Health Service Executive’s public information campaign “You, Me and HIV”, first launched in December of 2024 and getting periodic outings since then.
