Communications Minister Patrick O’Donovan has ruled out commissioning an independent review into Coimisiún na Meán, stating that he did not believe such an assessment was “appropriate or necessary.”
In a flashback to a written parliamentary question answered in March, the Fine Gael Minister rejected calls to examine the media regulator’s compatibility with constitutional and European free speech protections.
