Fianna Fáil’s health spokesman Martin Daly issued a press release this week calling for weight loss drugs such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro to be made more widely available through the HSE, and to be covered under the medical card and the Drugs Payment Scheme.
As it happens, a very similar suggestion was made by his predecessor, then-Fianna Fáil Health Minister Stephen Donnelly, this time last year.
