It would be fair to say that Trans Gender Equality Network Ireland has had its bad days. Father Ted type problems with the books eventually saw the departure of former Chairperson Sara McPhilips and the withdrawal of funding by the HSE. In recent days, the business has also been under scrutiny concerning its relationship with the National Gender Service (NGS).
In what might appear to be a classic case of forgetting to observe the old dictum Never Bite the Hand that Feeds, TENI activists were accused of engaging in online abuse of persons associated with the NGS which was the conduit for some €1.24 million of your money to this business as part of the promotion of “trans training.” This is only part of the large amount of cash trousered or skirted or whatever by these people over the years.

Certainly, it would seem that in common with quite a few taxpayer-funded activists, that whatever training they were provided with it was not in basic manners or minding your own business.

TENI are unlikely to be completely sent off to rattle collection boxes because they are one of the flagships of the Irish left liberal elite. Which means that no-one in Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, the Green Party, Sinn Féin, Labour, People Before Profit, or the Social Democrats or any of the network of other NGOs, trade unions, billionaire foundations etc, etc, is going to tell them to feck off because at the end of the day they are “our people.”
And if you don’t believe that, then look at the Curriculum Vitae of the new Chairperson of TENI, one Sam Blankensee. Sam has in some ways followed the classic Irish leftie career path, beginning with a stint in student union politics at UCD where he also founded the Harry Potter Society. Thankfully this association with the Leni Riefenstahl of TERFism, J.K Rowling only served to steel Sam for the struggles ahead.
While once the student princes of the USI had to serve their time before the mast of Stalinist shady former republican paramilitarism before getting sorted out with Union sinecures, Dáil seats, judgeships etc, etc, now the path for young radical is pretty much smoothed all the way.
Young Sam spoke at abortion rallies, was interviewed by Panti Bliss, did an MA in how to manage a non-profit NGO – as crucial now as a few years down pit was for your Arthur Scargill type old lefties; being featured by the Journal as one of the “30 hottest young politicos” when Sam was planning to be the first Labour Party transgender elected representative back in 2015, being mentioned by Forbes magazine as one of the future leaders of Europe, named dropped by Hozier, quoted by the Katharine Zappone, High Priestess of the American Democratic Party takeover of Ireland, in the Senate, nominated as the contact person between Advance HE and NUI Maynooth as an ‘Aurora Champion’ who talent spots likely recruits for that Woke corporation, and so on and so forth.
And the fruits of all of this cadre training? Well, just listen to Sam referring to seven and eight year old children as member of a putative community of “very young trans people” who had “discovered” their trans gender identity during the pandemic.
These are the same children waiting on the #toothfairy & #Santa to come. https://t.co/W0osgs7nJC

“TENI always has a breakfast the morning of Dublin Pride, and my favourite thing about it is the young people – and when I say young people I mean seven and eight years olds – coming in with their parents, so young, very young trans people…who discovered their identity probably during the pandemic, whose parents are maybe struggling, and for the first time they’re meeting friends, they’re making friends with people with a similar identity to them in a similar space,” he says.
This is the future people, and they want you to pay for it and, as we have seen elsewhere, let it be taught to your children behind your back.
