A mother (40s) and her young daughter have died in a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry in Co. Mayo.
The woman, who had been driving the car, and her daughter were fatally injured when their car collided with the truck on the N26 road at Callow between Foxford and Swinford.
The incident occurred just before 6pm.
The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital with injuries that are understood to be non-life threatening.
The scene of the collision is currently closed with local diversions in place, pending the conclusion of a technical examination being conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have footage and were travelling on the N26 between Swinford and Foxford between 5.00pm and 6.00pm yesterday evening are asked to make it available to Gardaí.

In a separate incident, a single-car crash in Co. Westmeath has resulted in the death of a man in his 50s, which brings the number of deaths on Irish roads so far this year up to 96.
This represents an increase of 11 on the same period last year.
The crash occurred on the R395 at Castlepollard shortly before 7pm, when gardaí were alerted to a vehicle which had collided with a roadside ditch. The male driver of the car and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
