Several hundred people gathered in the Shirley Arms Hotel, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan yesterday evening to attend a meeting called by local Sinn Féin TD, Matt Carthy, where the Chair of Monaghan County Council, Paul Gibbons, was also in attendance.
The meeting was called to address concerns in the area which are largely related to anti-social behaviour where locals say migrants have been engaging in behaviour that makes the area feel “unsafe”.
