What does flying the national flag outside your home say about you? This is actually the central question underpinning the bizarre flag wars in both the United Kingdom and Ireland, the latter of which was kicked off yesterday by Dublin City Council’s announcement that it is considering what to do about the number of Dublin residents festooning their streets with the tricolour.
In the case of Dublin City Council and some of its fellow travellers in the media, flying the national flag says about you that you do not like immigrants and that you think there are too many immigrants.
