In some ways, it’s difficult to write anything insightful about the arrest at Heathrow Airport, a day or two ago, of Irish writer Graham Linehan by five armed members of the British police. The whole thing is so dystopian, so totalitarian, so outrageous beyond belief that if you don’t understand the problem intuitively, then there probably isn’t much that I or anyone else can do to help you. You either favour locking people up for writing tweets or you do not. And if you do, you probably don’t subscribe to Gript.
But there is one thing I would say: Know hope. There are reasons to be cheerful.
