There are, according to the Government’s own figures, some 16,900 people or businesses in the state currently receiving €600 per month in accommodation payments in respect of 39,600 Ukrainian refugees living in 21,800 properties.
For those of you keeping score at home, that is a monthly outlay by the taxpayer of €13million, and an annual outlay of over €156million, all of which goes to keeping 21,800 properties available for Ukrainian refugees.
