First of all, let us get one thing clear: The Irish Government is not going to be invited to deploy a peacekeeping force to Gaza.
There are obvious reasons for this, perhaps the most salient of which is that for peacekeepers to “keep the peace” they must be trusted to act relatively neutrally between the combatants. Ireland has made it quite clear that it is not neutral between the combatants.
