Gardai have said that a man in his 40s who was arrested as part of an investigation into the funding of Islamic terrorism has been released without charge.
The man was arrested in Ballyhaunis county Mayo, and taken to Castlebar Garda station on the 15th of August under “ Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in relation to an offence.”
Monies to the value of €175,000 seized at the time of the arrest.
Gardaí say the investigation into the funding of Jihad in the west is ongoing, and a file will be forwarded to the director of public prosecutions.
