Irish house prices are rising again. The latest CSO figures show residential property prices up 5.6 per cent in the year to June — 4.6 per cent in Dublin, 6.4 per cent outside it. The median dwelling purchased over the preceding year cost €396,000.
If you’re trying to buy, none of that is reassuring. If you already own, it looks rather better. But the more interesting question is whether Irish house prices are actually too high.
