An independent councillor in Cork City, Albert Deasy, has strongly criticised the manner in which Cork City Council is processing planning applications under Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001.
Part 8 of the Regulations sets out “Requirements in respect of Specified Development by, on Behalf of, or in Partnership with Local Authorities.” This covers a wide range of developments from the construction of residential homes, bridges, public utilities and others.
