Last Saturday, a meeting was held in the Kilcock Community Centre to update people about the proposal to use the former Shalom Nursing Home, which is on the grounds of the old Presentation Convent, to accommodate persons who have applied for International Protection.
When I first reported on this in June 2025, there had been large protests at the site after it had been revealed that on May 15, 2025, a company called Frostbreak had applied to Kildare County Council for a declaration that a change of use was exempted development.
