Between 2020 and 2025, Ireland’s population grew by an average of 1.65% per annum. Three of those years saw growth above 1.87%.
To put this in context, average growth in the EU in 2025 was around 0.24%. Recent Irish population growth, mostly driven by immigration, has been around 7 times Europe’s 2025 average.
