Irish psychotherapist criticises CDC’s ‘dangerous’ removal of word “women” from health guidance

Prominent Irish psychotherapist Stella O’Malley has criticised the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for removing the word “women” from health guidance, describing the move as “dangerous.”

O’Malley, founder of Genspect, and author of a number of best-selling books on parenting and mental health, told The Daily Mail that the scrapping of the word ‘women’ in favour of ‘people’ in an effort to be more gender-neutral, was “an appalling example of how politics is increasingly interfering with medicine.”

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the US’s national public health agency, replaced terms including ‘women’ and ‘mother’ with ‘pregnant people and ‘pregnant person’ ’in its recommendations for a range of respiratory virus vaccinations for pregnant women.

The Daily Mail reports that the agency also removed terms ‘she’ and ‘her’ from the updated terminology – which was amended at the end of September.

“’CDC recommends pregnant people get a flu vaccine by the end of October, although flu vaccination should continue as long as flu is circulating,” it reads, adding:

“Getting a flu vaccine by the end of October helps protect pregnant people and their babies before flu activity begins to increase. Pregnant people may receive a flu vaccine during any trimester of pregnancy.”

In another statement released in September for the RSV vaccine, the CDC said:

“Today, CDC recommended the first respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine for pregnant people to protect their newborn from severe RSV illness.”

Ms O’Malley told the newspaper that there was “no need” for the action.

“In medical matters, clarity and simplicity should be prioritised so that everyone can understand what is involved,” she said, adding, “Some people, especially those for whom English is not a first language, will not understand what is meant by ‘pregnant people’ yet they would readily understand ‘mothers.’”

The author of ‘What your teen is trying to tell you,’ and maker of the Channel 4 documentary, ‘Trans Kids, it’s time to talk,’ argued that pregnant women are more vulnerable, and that some groups – including those whose first language is not English  – may find the wording confusing.

The former resident psychotherapist TV programmes on both  RTÉ 1, and on a TG4, said she  was “disappointed” that the health agency “has needlessly chosen to use more complicated language than they need to.”

It’s not the first time the CDC has come under fire, with its website last year replacing the word “breastfeeding” for “chestfeeding” in July, sparking controversy.

Dr Jane Orient, executive director of theAssociation of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), told The Daily Mail that the health agency was “cowering to political forces” in its removal of terms like ‘women.’

She said that “a small minority but highly influential entities, who are trying to change language, Orwellian style, to force acceptance of an absurdity.”

“All pregnant persons are women. A trans man is a woman who is trying to alter her body to resemble a man’s. She is endangering her baby’s health if she is taking testosterone. The CDC ought to be warning about that,” Dr Orient added.

The same advocates for perverting morality are the same people who pervert language.

Woman gone.
Women gone.
Mother gone.
She gone.
Her gone.
Eradicating the female sex to give dominance to the trans brigade.
Pure balderdash from eejits. The human race cannot go on without women. Breastfeeding eradicated too to be replaced by nonsense. There are those who believe in trans but it is a belief that belongs to a fringe group and should remain where it belongs, in their heads.
Whackjobs are changing the wording in an attempt to give credibility to their own beliefs. Knocking out women does not further their cause. Biology cannot be replaced by bullology. One should object to this. I will anyway.

It’s even worse than you say Mary. The people changing wording know that what they are inserting is a load of horse manure. They are doing it out of cowardice. They are afraid of a bunch of deranged men in skirts turning up outside their offices to start screaming and threatening violence against them.
It’s gotten so bizarre that the disconnected between reality and the perception of these deranged male perverts can’t be hidden no matter how many people are prosecuted for telling the truth. An empire of lies can only exist for so long no matter how much repression is used.

I would say that these are neither eejits or deranged people but wicked people.

They are not muddled. They delight both in a perverse lifestyle and perverting others.

Fully agree, James. Weak women, who crave acceptance, are often the tools used to drive this fad, even indoctrinating children in schools with it. Women gone, but they haven’t the guts to object. Following the herd instead, to wherever they are led.

I agree Mary, when I say anything about this to a person on their own at my children’s school they are fully against it, some of them don’t even know it’s happening, but when I mention it in a group I’m met with a wall of silence.

Keep on mentioning it to the group who won’t open up Paula. You’re rattling their cage. At least there’s fun in that. They are so weak. People like them who won’t speak up, even though they have objections, are the cause of this whackery taught in class, not being stopped or even discussed.

That’s right and Seán Ó Ríordáin wrote a lovely poem, Oíche Nollaig na mBan. The feast of one of our patron saints gone too. St. Brigid’s Day, 02 Feb was a lovely quiet Christian feast before, but the feminist activists grabbed it and turned it into a floating pagan holiday, that has her image reduced to a fest of paganism, sex and promiscuity, the core beliefs of Melanie Lynch and her pagan feminists. This regime of atheists opposes all Christian based thinking and belief. Wants it wiped out forever.

The forthcoming referendum, if passed, will DELETE the one and only mention of “WOMAN” from our Constitution.
Is that a coincidence????

Very good point.

It does not matter what these entities choose to do, women will never be erased in the minds of decent people and this sort of carry on will be ignored. This just highlights why its so important to no in the referendum in march against any amendment to our constitution because we do not know what these parties have planned if it goes through but one thing im sure of is that it will not benefit the Irish people.

women won’t be erased James, but it’s fn terrifying, I have 4 daughters. I don’t want a male taking space away from them that’s specifically for women and I don’t want sports being decimated for woman completely.

No they wont Paula, if the people of this country dont stop voting for these horrible people in the dail today then the only answer is to carve out a society for ourselves and avoid people and spaces that chose to destroy everything we hold dear such as our privacy. Make our own sports events privately by invitation only and everything else along with it. People need to break off from this mad government and just ignore them now and have only local private events and meetings with people we know and trust that have a conservative approach to live with good morals, decency and respect. Morals and common decency seem to have been erased and it needs to come back.

Would you support a decision by Ireland to copy the UK's "Rwanda Plan", under which asylum seekers are sent to the safe - but third world - African country instead of being allowed to remain here?
