Thursday began with the news that the Irish government had decided to take €1,500,000 from its citizens as a self-imposed penalty for failing to fulfil its own arbitrary and impossible targets on taking in people claiming to be asylum seekers.
Thursday ended with them agreeing to yet more impossible and socially destructive targets on migration – because that is the consequence of their having voted for the EU Migration and Asylum Pact in Luxembourg yesterday,
