Ireland has officially begun its provisional rollout of digital ID as part of its compliance with the European Union’s tightening online regulations.
Writing to members of the public on June 29, the government confirmed it has begun the pilot of its government digital wallet programme, just days before the start of the Irish European Council presidency.
