Tánaiste Simon Harris has rejected a proposal to introduce mandatory drug testing for politicians, warning of a “creeping normalisation” of illegal drug use in Irish society.
Speaking to Gript Media at the National Ploughing Championship this week, the Fine Gael leader dismissed a recent call by Sligo Fianna Fáil councillor Donal Gilroy for mandatory screening in the Dáil.
