It’s a civil servant somewhere’s lucky day: according to Taoiseach Micheál Martin, by the end of April, the Government is “imminently” going to establish the new position of “Housing Czar”, which I can only assume will come with a generous salary.
The Taoiseach says this individual’s job will be to “unblock barriers” to large developments and ensure that such projects progress smoothly, essentially overseeing the State’s housing policy at a grand scale.
