Germany is a land of migrants, the country’s president has declared ahead of a crucial regional election.
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a member of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), noted that as many as 42 per cent of school children in the country now have a migrant heritage.
