An Garda Síochána are conducting today a major search operation in parts of north Dublin, involving over 150 members of the force with support from the Armed Support and Public Order units.
The operation is targeting organised crime gangs in the Coolock and Raheny areas.
Organised searches of 39 properties began Tuesday morning as part of investigations into the activity of a number of criminal gangs operating nationwide suspected as being involved in burglaries across the country, as well as drug trafficking, counterfeiting, theft and other property-related crimes.
Involved in the operation are gardaí from the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the National Economic Crime Bureau, with operational support from the Garda Dog Unit and the Armed Support Unit.
Additional support is being provided by the National Public Order Unit.
The operation remains ongoing.
