Gardaí have said that they’ve received no reports of a lion on the loose in Co. Meath, after footage circulated on social media claiming to show just that.
A clip being shared on the internet, apparently taken from the cab of a truck, appears to show a large animal running into the woods.
It is uncertain when or where the clip comes from.
An additional screenshot circulating purports to show a garda report filed on the incident, in which it’s claimed the footage was captured by a truck driver for a wood haulage company.
The writing contained in the screenshot situates the clip’s contents in the region of Kells, Co. Meath.
However, in response to a query from Gript about the circulating footage and the alleged details, gardaí said that “there have been no reports matching that description at this time”.
