Gardai have told Gript they are “aware” that “misinformation and disinformation” about an alleged assault is being deliberately circulated, but have refused to “share or highlight” any examples to Gript.
The claim from the Gardai relates to an alleged assault of a woman in Birr, Offaly, over the weekend. Gardai have confirmed to Gript that a woman, aged in her 30s, received medical treatment following an incident in the early hours of Sunday the 11th of June.
