The funeral arrangements for two teenage boys who died on the Greek island of Ios last week have been announced.
Friends Andrew O’Donnell and Max Wall passed away on Saturday and Sunday during an ill fated school trip to the island.
The boys, both 18, had been students at St Michael’s College in Dublin.
The funeral of Max wall will take place at The Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook, Dublin on the 10th of July.
His heartbroken family said Max had been taken “far too soon”, adding that the world had “lost a little colour”.
“Max, with a larger-than-life personality, brought great joy to the lives of his family and friends and everyone he came in contact with.” they said.
The message added, “During his short time, he faced numerous challenges that he bore with great courage and bravery and always remained his most positive sunny fun filled self.”
Andrew O’Donnell’s funeral Mass will be held on the 12th of July at 11am also at The Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook..
In a notice posted online Andrew’s family said he brought “immense joy to the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him”.
“He possessed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a sense of humour that brightened the darkest of days.”
“He was known for his passion for sports, his footballing talents, his charming demeanour, and his love for his two golden retrievers, Marnie and Maisie.”
“He was unfailingly loyal to his friends and relatives, in Ireland and England, and touched the lives of so many during his short time with us, including those he shared experiences with at St Matthew’s National School, St Michael’s College Secondary School, Old Belvedere RFC and Belmont FC.” it said.
It is understood that Max collapsed and passed away after hearing that Andrew had been found dead on a rocky track just outside the nearby town of Hora.
