The case of Riad Bouchakar (51), of no fixed abode, was mentioned before the Central Criminal Court this morning.
Bouchakar , is facing charges related to the Parnell St. school stabbing which took place in November 2023.
The accused, who is originally from Algeria is facing eight charges in relation to the incident which saw a five year old girl and a female child care worker seriously injured.
Boucharker was charged with the attempted murder of a male child, two separate counts of attempting to murder two female children, and causing serious harm to a care worker.
He is also charged with assault causing harm to another male child and a girl as well as production of a 36cm kitchen knife.
He is also charged with assault causing harm to a French national.
Mr. Justice Paul McDermott heard that a neuro-psychological report in respect of the accused is being compiled by the defence psychiatrist but has been delayed due to “access to the prison” as well as access to “an interpreter”.
Justice McDermott granted a request for four weeks to complete the report and put the case back on the list for the 28th of May next.
The accused did not appear before the court.
