An eagle-eyed Gript reader has noted that a site notice was erected at Cranford House last Friday, August 21. It contains the information that a planning application has been made to Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for the “change of use of office building to accommodation for homeless people.”
The application has not yet appeared on the Council planning portal. Furthermore, it would appear to run contradictory to an exemption that was registered in September 2024 and granted last October for “Temporary change of use from office space to residential use to house displaced persons at ground floor and first floor levels of Cranford House under Class 20F of the Planning and Development (Exempted Development) (No. 4) Regulations 2023. Proposed works include minor changes internally and no works are proposed to the external fabric of the existing building.”
