On the day before the tragic event in Donaghmede in which a young man from Ukraine lost his life, some of the State agencies and other ‘stakeholders’ appeared before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Justice, Home Affairs and Migration.
They outlined their views on the proposed new International Protection Bill. Among those to appear were people from Tusla which is once again under the spotlight regarding its responsibility for people who present as ‘unaccompanied minors.’ This is an issue, as Niamh Uí Bhriain discussed yesterday, which is under renewed scrutiny following what happened last week.
