A Congolese man who came to Ireland to apply for international protection in 2005 and has “not a sausage” of documentation is to be remanded back into custody after being given therapeutic bail.
Mbuku Desire (36) of 182 Clonliffe Road, Dublin is charged with engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour or insulting words or behaviour likely to lead to a breach of the peace.after he allegedly ran down a train station platform tract in Co. Cork on St. Patrick’s Day last.
Judge Miriam Walsh previously heard that Mr. Desire came from the Congo in 2005 and has been seeking international protection in Ireland for 20 years, but did not have “a sausage” of documentation.
He was released on therapeutic bail to receive mental health treatments at a Dublin hospital, which Clover Hill District Court heard is now complete.
The state was granted an application for the accused to be remanding back into custody for two weeks.
Mr. Desire is to appear before Cork City District Court on the 3rd of September next where his case is listed for mention.
The alleged incident took place at Little Island train station at Kilcoolishal, Glounthaune, where there were groups and families present.
