Elon Musk’s US tech giant X is facing a domestic regulatory investigation in Ireland after Coimisiún na Meán announced a probe. If the platform is ultimately found to have broken the rules, the resulting “administrative financial sanction” could reach €20 million or 10% of its relevant annual turnover, depending on which figure is higher.
In a statement published today, the Irish media regulator announced the commencement of its “first formal investigation” into the social media company under Ireland’s Online Safety Code.
