Coimisiún na Meán has faced fierce criticism over a €4.4 million taxpayer fund, which includes a €100,000 project paying a media outlet to teach eight-year-old children about “misinformation”, with politicians warning that the scheme “reeks of attempts” at partisan narrative framing for children.
The backlash follows an announcement by the media regulator today unveiling the results of the second round of its News Reporting Scheme.
