Gript has seen a substantial amount of correspondence that took place between various Departmental officials, the Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Emer Higgins, and others in the weeks before and after the decision by the State to buy Citywest.
The State purchase of Citywest for €148.2 million was announced on June 17 but the Department of Integration ‘outreach,’ including to local elected representatives appears to have only really began after the purchase was confirmed when the Department asked the Minister for a list of local community groups, even though the local community and some of their elected representatives had been pressing for information since rumours of the sale had begun.
